Umicore’s new plant in Nysa is moving forward fast despite the pandemic

Regional website Poland

The new Polish Umicore team in Nysa is working relentlessly with contractors to build Umicore’s first cathode materials plant in Europe. Nowadays, special attention goes to safety and health of all people involved – off and on site.

With the Coronavirus in mind specific measures were taken by Umicore and its contractors in order to continue the construction works in the safest conditions. Social distancing and remote work are key measures in our battle against the virus.

Thanks to a motivated workforce that is determined to stay safe, Umicore did manage to swiftly adapt its way of working to the new safety requirements in Corona times.

Since the groundbreaking ceremony in February we have made good progress. You can see on the  video how the foundations of our buildings have popped up in no time between March and April 2020. And there’s more to come!
