Umicore Nysa supports the 3rd Santa Claus Night Run
Umicore promotes a healthy and active lifestyle amongst its employees and participates in local sports initiatives such as the Santa Claus Night Run in Nysa where we are both runners and a sponsor. Every year the number of Umicore runners increases steadily, and to celebrate this, we support all participants with lively cheering and a nice cup of hot Belgian chocolate.
On 16 December the Santa Claus Night Run in Nysa was held for the third time and as many as 16 of our representatives left the starting line! The runners set off from Market Street on a 5.2-kilometer loop around the central part of the city. The purpose of the event was to popularize active leisure and building stronger ties with our local community.
“Umicore runners signed up to participate in the Santa Claus Night Run in even greater numbers than last year. We are pleased that this event has become a tradition not only for Nysa, but also for us at Umicore. Being able to join in actively celebrating the run in a festive atmosphere is a great honor for us. We are happy to consider this already a certain tradition at Umicore," said Alicja Stafford, Communications Manager at Umicore.
The illuminations on the streets, the December evening, and at the same time the participants dressed in Santa Claus costumes - all this perfectly emphasized the atmosphere of the upcoming holidays, and the smiles and kindness of participants and supporters gave the event a unique aura. Despite the fatigue and low temperature, hot drinks warmed up those who came to cheer on the athletes, while for the runners they were a reward for the effort put in.

We welcome the enthusiasm with which our corporate community engages in local sports initiatives.
